History

Gilpin Family Pioneers Settled in Snohomish Washington beginning in the Late 1800's and early 1900's Paul Gilpin born in 1917 and Freda Bartelheimer born in 1920 were 2nd generation Snohomish residents. Paul and Freda were married in 1942 and had two sons Tom and Jeff. In 1955 they created the highly successful family retail business, Gilpin Sporting Goods. Their 2nd son Jeff Gilpin began his selling career working in the family business at age 8. In 1965 the Gilpins sold the Sporting goods business.

Freda a Pioneer working woman and successful sales person began selling Real Estate in 1966 and subsequently established Gilpin Realty in 1968. Her Husband Paul Gilpin Joined in 1969 and Jeff Gilpin Joined in 1970. Freda retired from actively selling in 1987 but remained the Secretary-Treasurer until her death in 2004 at the age of 84. Paul Gilpin was president and designated broker until his death in 1994. Jeff Gilpin today is the Designated Broker and President and his son Gabe Gilpin is an Associate Broker and Vice President.
